A unique and evidence-based approach to teaching youth volleyball!

FORMAT:  Research tells us that younger athletes should be playing in a modified/smaller space to increase skill development.  It makes sense right?  Soccer, lacrosse, basketball and other sports shorten their playing areas and/or alter their equipment (lower hoops or smaller goals) in this age group…so Sound VBC is implementing this developmentally appropriate principal to volleyball.  We believe that our unique model of a smaller court, with four players, using a lighter ball, on a lower net will provide an excellent environment and experience for our youth players.  Have questions about this format and why we feel like it is the best method?  We are happy to answer your questions.  Email Josh at:  [email protected]

ORGANIZATION:  We place an emphasis on learning what it is like to be a member of a team and how each individual can contribute to the success of others while building skill development.  Part of this program will be our very popular “bring a parent/guardian day” where our athletes get a chance to invite a parent/guardian to go through the practice with them.  This is a great step in the development of our players as they take ownership and feel empowered to share their learning experience and process with others close to them.  Enrollment will be capped at 16 players with positions granted on a first-come, first-serve basis.  The Sound Development program is open to players currently in 4th – 7th grade.  Athletes in 3rd grade and younger can take part in our Volleykids sessions.
